A sad day...

Even though we  are celebrating the glorious Solemnity of the Epiphany, our hearts are tinged with sadness.

Nearly ten years ago we welcomed a small community of Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration, who took up residence in our St. Joseph House.  Then-archbishop Jose Gomez was overjoyed to have them in the archdiocese, knowing their prayers and their presence would be a great blessing, and over the years it certainly has proven to be exactly that.

Today we were notified by Mother Dolores Marie, the Superior at the monastery in Hanceville, that Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller, the present archbishop of San Antonio, had made the formal request that the nuns be removed from his archdiocese.

In obedience Sister Grace Marie, Sister Elizabeth Marie, and Sister Mary Peter - all members individually of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter - have started their journey from here to Our Lady of the Angels Monastery in Hanceville.
