But the choice made then has to be repeated day after day after day, because the relationship we have with God is a living thing – and as we, by our actions (or sometimes by our lack of action) harm our divine relationship, yet God is forever healing and re-creating our relationship with Him. Always God is there, welcoming us, waiting for us, and yet never forcing us.
Even in His Incarnation, which began at that instant when the Blessed Virgin Mary said “yes,” and which reached its zenith on that stark hill called Golgotha, so we have the reality of God’s incredibly patient and compassionate act of communicating His love for us, giving us every opportunity to respond in love, so that we can fulfill our destinies and so inherit the Kingdom prepared for us from the very foundation of the world.
